Brussels Airport transfer: what to expect

Brussels Airport (BRU) is in Zaventem, a town about 12 km north-east of the city centre. That is why locals call it "Zaventem". By car, the ride to the Grand-Place, the EU district or your hotel takes 20 to 30 minutes. At rush hour on the Brussels Ring it can take longer.

Where your driver meets you

Brussels Airport has a single terminal and one arrivals hall for all flights. Your driver meets you in the arrivals hall after you leave the baggage area. You receive the exact meeting point and your driver's contact details with your confirmation.

Going to the airport

For departures, your driver picks you up at the agreed address and time and drops you at the departures hall. Plan to reach the airport about 2 hours before a flight within Europe and 3 hours before a long-haul flight. From central Brussels, leave around 45 minutes earlier than that.

The first flights leave Brussels Airport from about 6 am, when trains are few and far between. We drive 24/7. Book ahead and your driver will be at your door at 4 am as easily as at midnight.

Train, taxi rank or pre-booked transfer?

The airport train reaches Brussels-Central in about 20 minutes, but you still need to get from the station to your address with your bags. Taxis at the rank are metered, so the fare depends on traffic. A pre-booked transfer gives you three things: a price you know in advance, a driver who waits for you, and a drop-off at the door.
